AP Physics 2

AP Physics 2

For students willing to put in the appropriate amount of effort into their classes, by taking AP Physics 2, there will be a clear payoff in their odds for admissions to more prestigious college programs. AP Physics 2 builds on top of Physics 1 and requires a good grasp of physics, mathematics and precalculus. Specifically, the exam covers algebra-based physics. Many students will take both AP Physics 1 and 2.

AP Physics 2 focuses on mechanics, electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics and nuclear physics.

Course Content

  • Unit 1: Fluids: Pressure and Forces
  • Unit 2: Thermodynamics
  • Unit 3: Electric Force, Field, and Potential
  • Unit 4: Electric Circuits
  • Unit 5: Magnetism and Electromagnetic Induction
  • Unit 6: Geometric and Physical Optics
  • Unit 7: Quantum, Atomic, and Nuclear Physics

Students looking to pursue STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) in college are highly recommended to take AP Physics 2.

Many students perform better with one-to-one and small group tutoring, allowing them to learn more effectively, as well as being able to have the tutor’s full attention.
